Chester has several parks, including Goose Pond Mountain State Park. These parks offer vast mountain views, plenty of hiking trails, and even year-round activities. Chester has two hamlets, both dating back to the 1700s: Sugar Loaf and East Chester. The town is also home to Camp Monroe, a private Jewish summer camp that is partially open to the public, and includes several tennis courts, ball fields, two indoor gymnasiums, and a swimming pool.
