Located right on the Hudson River, Edgewater is rich in both its history and views of the New York City skyline. Starting as one of the first colonies in Bergen County and contributing to the Revolutionary War, to serving as a resort town in the 1800s, Edgewater is now a sprawling residential community with easy access to New York City.


Local Amenities
Edgewater offers five main shopping areas: Towne Centre, the Binghamton Shopping Plaza, Mitsuwa Marketplace, Edgewater Commons, and City Place. Edgewater is also home to Veteran’s Field, a community space that offers recreational opportunities, including indoor and outdoor basketball courts, softball fields, an outdoor track, tennis courts, and a playground. Edgewater also features a promenade along the Hudson, allowing walkers a path with views of Manhattan.

Children in Edgewater attend the George Washington School from kindergarten to second grade, then the Eleanor Van Gelder School from third to sixth grade. For seventh through twelfth grades, students attend the nearby Leonia Middle School and Leonia High School. Students are also eligible to attend vocational magnet schools in Bergen County, including Bergen County Academies in Hackensack and Bergen Technical High School in Teterboro or Paramus.
