Sparkill Real Estate
Sparkill, formerly known as Tappan Sloat, is a hamlet in the Town of Orangetown, located north of Palisades, east of Tappan, south of Piermont and west of the Hudson River.
Sparkill is “inland” from Piermont, and has a tiny center, with an old post office, an imposing old bank building, and just a few little stores and restaurants. After passenger rail service was dropped on the West Shore, Sparkill was frozen in time, and today it’s a time-traveler’s delight.
Home to Rockland Country Club, historic Rockland Cemetery and natural ice skating on the Sparkill Creek, this little spot is a popular destination. Easy access to Tallman Mountain State Park features trails for hiking, walking, cross-country skiing, tennis courts, a pool, spots for picnicking, and a playfield.
Notable dining includes Woody’s (terrific seasonal menu), La Bamba (a little taqueria that is the closest to the authentic Mexican food you may find in LA) and the soon to be restaurant of culinary chef, Joe Prince, opening in the former home of Relish.
